Las Vegas a major entertainment destination in the USA. The gambling, shows, food, shopping, and other entertainment make it a hot spot for many travelers. Cheap flights to Las Vegas will be landing at McCarran International Airport (LAS) which is located on the south end of Las Vegas, right next to Las Vegas Boulvard and Tropicana Avenue. McCarran is a busy airport, ranked 15th in the world for the amount of people that land and take off each day.
If you can’t wait to get to the casino once you land, there are more than 1,234 slot machines inside the terminals. Though an international airport, McCarran does not have any direct flight to or from Australia. Visitors from Australia can take a Qantas, Air New Zealand, or V Australia flight to Los Angeles at LAX, and then take a one hour connecting flight from Southwest Air, or any number of domestic flights into Las Vegas. That may change however, in June of 2012, a new $1.6 billion dollar terminal will be added, including 6 gates designated for those traveling internationally. After landing at McCarran ready for their Las Vegas holidays, visitors can find plenty of taxicabs to take them to their hotel, or take one of the RTC Transit bus to their destination. Rental cars are also available at the Consolidated Rental Car Facility located 3 miles from the airport, with more than 40 buses provide transportation to and from the airport and rental lot.
